The National Association for Interpretation is pleased to announce its scholarship program for college students who are studying natural, historical, and cultural interpretation or are in a closely related field with career aspirations in the field of interpretation. The goal of the scholarship program is to recognize students who have the potential to make an outstanding contribution to the field of interpretation.

Scholarships include:

  • Three $1,500 scholarships for graduate students
  • Three $1,500 scholarships for undergraduate students
  • Each student must be able to attend the NAI National Workshop. Students will be recognized at a scholarship breakfast as well as participate with the Workshop Committee in the Scholarship Auction.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university full time.
  • Applicants must be students in the field of interpretation or a related field.
  • Applicants must be members of the National Association for Interpretation through December 1.
  • Applicants must be able to attend the NAI National Workshop.
  • Previous national scholarship winners, NAI national and regional officers, scholarship
  • committee members, and members of their families are not eligible.

Selection Procedure & Timetable

  • Applications received by Scholarship Chair: April 15
  • Scholarship Committee screens applications & conducts phone interview: April 15 – May 15
  • Students notified by committee chair: May
  • Students receive scholarship checks: August
  • Students attend national workshop: November

Region 8 is giving away money!  NAI Region 8 Offers Members Scholarships for National Workshop in Las Vegas, 2010
Deadline: May 1, 2010

Region 8 is giving away money! It’s true. Any Region 8 member may apply for a scholarship to attend the National Workshop in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 16-20, 2010. Two scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will cover the full workshop registration fee, plus one off-site field trip. Recipients will be responsible for paying their own travel, room and board costs and any other expenses not included in the standard workshop registration. Interpretive Naturalist Section Announces Scholarship Program
Deadline: May 1, 2010

NAI’s Interpretive Naturalist Section is excited to launch a new scholarship program. The program consists of four components for this year:

  • One $500 grant for non-students to attend the NAI National Workshop in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 16-20, 2010. Application deadline: May 1.
  • One $700 student scholarship to the NAI national workshop in Las Vegas. Application deadline: May 1.

NCDA Section Offers Grants for National Workshop, Interpreters Road Show
Deadline: August 31, 2010

Members of NAI’s Nature Center Directors and Administrators Section are invited to apply for a $1,000 grant to be used to cover costs to attend the NAI National Workshop in Las Vegas or a grant that covers the cost of the Interpreters Road Show before the National Workshop. This year, the NCDA Section will offer two National Workshop grants and two Interpreters Road Show grants. To apply for one of these grants, download the forms from the NCDA website at www.naisections.org/NCDA.
