I joined NAI in November 2006. I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, but every summer of my life we vacationed near Estes Park, Colorado, where my family owns a cabin. These vacations were the highlight of the year, as our whole family enjoyed the mountain life – hiking, riding horses, and just generally breathing in that wonderful mountain air. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I moved to Colorado over thirty years ago, after getting my Bachelors degree at the University of Nebraska.
I later received a Masters of Science in Business Administration degree (emphasis in accounting) from Colorado State University, followed by earning my CPA license. So to me, working at NAI is the best of both worlds: I get to use my talents to help an organization that works for those who support areas like the mountains I love.
I live in Carr, a small town near the Wyoming border (our church just got running water!) with my husband, Edgar, and our critters. We enjoy our life there, having a bit of land where our dogs can run and at night the silence and the stars are incredible. My free time is often spent in training and trialing our dogs in the sport of dog agility. We have two Border Collies and two English Shepherds. We also have two cats, and all our “furkids” are rescues of one sort or another. I also enjoy reading and time spent with my church family at the Carr Community Church – and, of course, a weekend here and there at our cabin in the mountains!
